The instructors were cordial, informative, and the one-on-one teaching our daughter received was wonderful! We didn't know what to expect at first, but all of the employees made us feel at ease right away. We loved the small class size, and our daughter got to have a lot of surf time with her instructor there the whole way. It was a very well organized, and what a value we received!

We recently booked private lessons with Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy and it was great! I can’t say enough good things about our instructor, Ikaika. My wife and youngest daughter went on the lesson with him and he was fun, encouraging, attentive, and helpful. My 8-year-old daughter stood on her first wave and is now hooked! Also, the picture package you can purchase from Rick Larson is excellent and inexpensive. We ended up with about 160 high-quality pictures.

My sister and I did a lesson with the Royal Surf Academy and were lucky enough to have the group lesson to ourselves with Tavner and Calson - they make it look easy. We had a super time learning, and managed to ride a few waves all the way to the beach! The beach instruction was brief but thorough, and lots of time was spent catching waves and getting comfortable on the boards. It was AWESOME!

My husband and I were so impressed with Taverner and Sierra, who took the utmost care in teaching our four children (ages 13, 11, 9, and 7). They were fun and laidback and shared do’s and don’t’s as well as a little surf history! A couple of our kids were a little afraid at first, but they both made the kids feel comfortable and all four of them were able to stand up on the board and surf! Thank you Royal Surf Academy! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in a Maui!
